About Me

My name is Shawn, and I am the owner\craftsman at Orange Box Woodworks. I have been building things with my hands my entire life. In high school, I took every shop class that was available at my school, including the Building Trades program at the Career and Technology Center. Creating things from wood has been my passion for as long as I can remember. I have always built things for myself, family, and friends as a hobby, but in 2019, after much discussion with my wife, I decided to take a leap of faith and venture into the world of entrepreneurship! It was scary and exciting all at the same time!

If it were not for my wonderful wife and three amazing kids, I would not have had the strength to start this journey! They are my world, and none of this would be possible without them! Owning your own business is challenging, time consuming, and at times extremely stressful, but it is all worth it when you can spend time with your family at the end of the day! Do what you love, for the ones you love is the greatest way to earn a living!!

I made the decision that I wanted my small business to stand out from all the others! I decided that I want my business to be based on my attention to detail and my strict quality values. I stand behind everything that leaves my shop, large or small! I believe that is the reason that I will succeed!!

Wood Movement

Please note that all items are handmade of superior quality wood.  Wood is considered a live product and can move even after completion of a build.  Wood will naturally expand and contract with temperature and/or humidity changes.  I always do my best to minimize movement, but I cannot guarantee there will not be any movement over time causing minor separations or cracks.
